BlazeLIMS Pricing: One-Time vs SaaS Costs, Reviews and Alternatives

TL;DR

  • Blaze Systems publishes BlazeLIMS prices, which is rare for a LIMS. A one-time licence starts at $10,575 for 3 concurrent users.
  • SaaS starts at $600 a month for 2 concurrent users, with no contract and 30 days' notice.
  • One-time licences add 18% a year for support. For 5 users over five years, list prices come to about $34,200 one-time versus $54,000 for SaaS.
  • Implementation, validation, servers and IT time aren't on the list, so get them quoted in writing.

Unlike most LIMS vendors, Blaze Systems publishes its prices. The harder question is which model to choose: a one-time licence with yearly support, or a monthly subscription. This guide covers the published prices, a five-year example, what the list leaves out, reviews and alternatives. For the wider market, see our LIMS pricing guide.

How BlazeLIMS Pricing Works

BlazeLIMS is sold two ways, both priced by concurrent users (people logged in at the same time). These figures come from Blaze's price page, checked on 31 Oct 2026.

One-Time (Site-Hosted) Licence

  • BlazeLIMS: $10,575 for 3 concurrent users or $17,995 for 5. Extra users cost $3,525 each (users 6–10), $2,100 (11–20) and $700 above 20.
  • BlazeInventory, which includes an ELN, and BlazeStability: $8,825 each as add-ons, or $10,700 each standalone.
  • BlazeLink instrument interfacing: $900 per instrument.
  • Annual support: 18% of the licence value.

SaaS Subscription

  • BlazeLIMS: $600 a month for 2 concurrent users, plus $100 a month for each additional user.
  • BlazeInventory is included. BlazeStability is a $300-a-month add-on.
  • BlazeLink: $900 per instrument.
  • No contract, and 30 days' cancellation notice.

Blaze's SaaS page also offers a free 60-day trial with two hours of web training, and caps annual hotline support at 15 incidents for 1–5 users, with extra incidents at $200 each.

Why Blaze's Own Pages Show Different Numbers

Blaze's home page lists "typical" pricing of $12,000 one-time or $512 a month for 3 users, and its pharma page repeats those figures. The SaaS page lists 1 user at $350 a month and 10 users at $1,400. The price page is the most detailed, so this guide uses it. Ask for a written quote that says which list it's based on.

What BlazeLIMS Costs Over Five Years

Here's a simple example for a lab with 5 concurrent users and BlazeLIMS only, using Blaze's list prices. It assumes support is paid every year, including the first.

  • One-time licence: $17,995 up front plus $3,239.10 a year in support (18%), or about $34,190 over five years.
  • SaaS: $900 a month ($600 for 2 users plus 3 × $100), or $54,000 over five years.

On paper the one-time licence wins, as Blaze's own site says, but you run the server, database and backups. SaaS costs more over five years but starts lower, includes BlazeInventory (an $8,825 add-on on the one-time model) and can be cancelled with 30 days' notice. Add $900 for each instrument you connect, on either model.

What the Price List Doesn't Cover

  • Implementation and configuration of your tests, specs and reports.
  • Data migration. Blaze mentions a legacy data migration wizard and support, but not a price.
  • Validation, if you work under GMP, GLP or 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Training beyond the trial session, and support beyond your incident allowance.
  • For site-hosted installs, servers, database licences, backups and IT staff time.

Price these the same way for every vendor over the same three to five years, using our LIMS implementation cost breakdown.

BlazeLIMS Reviews and Alternatives

What Reviews Say

User reviews are scarce. GetApp shows no reviews for BlazeLIMS, and CrowdReviews shows none. ITQlick scores it 55 out of 100 and itechguides gives an editor score of 6.0 out of 10, but these are editorial ratings, not customer feedback. Ask for references from a lab like yours, and use the free trial to test your workflows.

Alternatives by Lab Type

  • Small testing labs that want published prices: QBench and CloudLIMS.
  • Regulated enterprise labs: LabWare, STARLIMS and LabVantage.
  • Environmental and public-sector labs: Sample Master.
  • Life science and diagnostics labs scaling up: platforms priced without seat fees, such as Scispot (below).

Whatever you shortlist, score each option with our LIMS vendor selection framework.

Where Scispot Fits

Scispot LIMS is built for life science, diagnostics and testing labs that want samples, workflows, instruments and data in one place, connected to your other systems through GLUE.

The pricing model is different from Blaze's. Scispot uses custom annual pricing with unlimited users and no per-seat fees, so adding people doesn't change the bill. Plans include forward-deployed scientists and engineers, integrations within the agreed scope, and training. Scispot supports 350+ instrument types and is trusted by 200+ labs.

A small, stable team with IT support may find a BlazeLIMS licence good value. If your team is growing or needs deeper instrument and data integration, get a Scispot quote for the same scope.

A site-hosted licence may suit a small, stable team with in-house IT support. If your laboratory is scaling, adding instruments, or connecting multiple systems, compare how Scispot's delivery model and annual pricing fit your requirements - Request Custom Pricing

FAQs

How much does BlazeLIMS cost?

Blaze Systems publishes its prices. On its price page (checked 31 Oct 2026), a one-time site-hosted licence starts at $10,575 for 3 concurrent users, or $17,995 for 5, plus annual support at 18% of the licence. SaaS starts at $600 a month for 2 concurrent users, plus $100 a month for each extra user. Implementation, training and validation aren't on the list.

Is BlazeLIMS cheaper as SaaS or as a one-time licence?

Over the long run, the one-time licence usually costs less on paper. At list prices for 5 concurrent users, the licence plus five years of support comes to about $34,190, while SaaS at $900 a month comes to $54,000. But the one-time option runs on your own server, and the list doesn't include that IT cost. Blaze itself says perpetual licensing is more cost-effective over time.

Is there a free BlazeLIMS trial?

Yes. Blaze's SaaS page offers a free 60-day trial, a complimentary two-hour web training session and review sessions at 30 and 60 days. The SaaS plan has no contract and needs 30 days' cancellation notice.

What do BlazeLIMS reviews say?

There are very few. GetApp shows no user reviews for BlazeLIMS (checked 31 Oct 2026). ITQlick scores it 55 out of 100, and iTechGuides gives an editor score of 6.0 out of 10, but those are editorial ratings, not user reviews. Ask Blaze for references from a lab like yours.

What are the best BlazeLIMS alternatives?

Small labs often compare QBench and CloudLIMS, which also publish prices. Regulated enterprise labs look at LabWare, STARLIMS and LabVantage, and environmental and public-sector labs often look at Sample Master. Life science and diagnostics labs that want unlimited users with no per-seat fees should also look at Scispot.
